Farmstead Rules
- Daily Sign-In
Hunters and guests must sign in each day before beginning to hunt and sign out at the end of the hunt.
Members failing to sign in or out will forfeit membership without refund.
- Guests of Members
Members are responsible for the actions of their guests. Guests are bound by the same rules as members.
- Alcohol
Farmstead is an alcohol-free establishment. Anyone judged by preserve personnel to be "under the influence" of alcohol and/or drugs will not be permitted in the fields and may be subject to immediate ejection from the property and forfeiture of membership without refund. Alcohol after hours is permitted in member's RVs (Trailers, motor homes, tent sites)
- Smoking
Grass and dry cover burn! Smoking allowed in designated areas or closed private vehicles only.
- Ammunition
FARMSTEAD requires use of Non-Toxic shot when hunting birds. No shot-size larger than #4 steel or bismuth is allowed. #7 1/2 or SMALLER shot for sporting clays.
- Firearms Capacity and Safety
All firearms must be broken open and unloaded unless hunting.
Member's guns are allowed in the clubhouse only when broken open and unloaded.
All guns capable of holding more than 3 shells MUST have a plug in them.
- Permitted Shooting Areas
Shooting from or across county roads, parking lots and club roads is prohibited.
NO shooting is allowed in any posted safety or NO HUNTING zone.
- Birds on the ground
Birds should be shot in flight. Ground-shooting birds endangers dogs and hunters.
Ground-swatting is prohibited. Let the dog chase down any cripples.
- Taking birds flushed
While in the fields, hunters are expected to TAKE any game bird (of either sex) whenever the opportunity arises, under normal hunting procedures and in compliance with normal safety precautions. When a hunter has taken all the birds he or she desires, he or she should place a leash on their dog or hood their falcon and return to the clubhouse to have all birds tagged before signing out. YOU MUST KEEP ALL THE BIRDS YOU, YOUR DOG OR YOUR FALCON RETRIEVE.
Leaving wounded birds without an honest attempt to find them, or discarding unwanted or caught birds, will result in the forfeiture of membership without refund. A fine may also be levied by the Fish & Game Department.
- Birds leaving property
All birds must be checked in at the clubhouse. All birds leaving property are to be properly tagged.
Do not bring onto club property any wild birds taken in other areas during state open season.
Do not leave the club with unchecked birds - to do so is a violation of Fish & Game regulations, and subject to a fine.
- Safety Attire - required for shotgun hunters AND Falconer
Hunter Orange attire is required of anyone going into the hunting fields. (vest and/or cap)
Eye and ear protection is required in addition to hunter orange clothing.
- Vehicle inspections
Any member, guest or non-member hunter agrees that his or her vehicle may be searched by club personnel and/or Fish & Game and/or State Police personnel. REFUSING SEARCH PERMISSION WILL RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM THE CLUB AND/ OR FORFEITURE OF MEMBERSHIP WITHOUT REFUND and permission to hunt on club property.
- Shooting of birds of prey of any type. Hawk, Falcon, Owl, Eagle, Etc.
Any person attempting to shoot at or toward any bird of prey will be immediately ejected from Farmstead property. He or she will forfeit all privileges and funds. He or she will be reported to the State Police & Fish and Game Department.
I have read and understand the Field rules of Farmstead Hunting Preserve.
I agree to all rules and penalties for infractions. This form must be on file before hunting is allowed.
This list of rules may be changed at any time without notice from FARMSTEAD.
CHECK FOR CURRENT RULES AT CLUBHOUSE OR WITH FARMSTEAD PERSONNEL.
